What a great evening out! There were six of us who went to the Climbing Castle for a night of “social climbing”. We had a dedicated instructor who started us off on some simple walls and then graduated us (via a few other free climb challenges) to more advanced climbing, including belaying.
There was an immediate sense of camaraderie and facing challenges as a team – a natural by-product of a group adventure. We encouraged each other, competed and upped each others’ game by trying harder and harder climbs.
And an hour and a half later, we were all sore and went for a drink at the canteen. Conversation ensued – life stories, similar experiences, and “what’s next?” I mentioned Go Ape and everyone seemed enthused for a greater challenge.
You can learn a lot about someone by the way they climb.

Really made some amazing connections tonight. Already planning some new adventures with some of them…

My arms are fried. But the good kind of fried.
